Of course in overlord you should already have your 10 gaurdians to each floor so they could be companions that you can send out on tasks such as spying and gaurding defensive points to key territory. Implementing mechanics such as instead of hiring troops you have to raze cities and raise the dead, also searching ancient mines and dungeons for ancient gaurdians and legendary beast. i think this game is the perfect template for an overlord mod How sick would it be to have an overlord total convergence with a skeletal necromancer who tries to take over the world, with D&D esque magic, you start off already powerful as ♥♥♥♥ and the strategy comes in the form of avoiding other powerful beings while amassing as much territory as you can.
